about

the faded community

Founded by Cat aka Faded Society (DJ alias), it all began from the Faded Society Events in 2021 after a successful (slightly illegal) Halloween party above a pub. These events slowly transformed into a brand and relaunched into what is now known as The Faded Community, establishing in April 2024

This is a community-led platform for electronic music culture based in London. We bridge the gap between artists, brands, and fans through curated experiences and shared learning—building meaningful connections that last beyond the moment.

From the dance floor to digital spaces, we also help electronic music artists, makers, promoters and venues grow with intention. We specialise in stripping away the gatekeeping of music marketing, offering accessible masterclasses, consultancy, and content strategies that empower artists to own their narrative.

While our roots are in the UK capital, we operate internationally and are actively expanding our footprint into key cultural hubs like Manchester and Bristol to ensure the next generation of electronic music has the resources to thrive.

Beyond this, Trish hosts ‘Faded Frequencies’ a monthly radio show with a mix of discussion, DJ sets, and spotlighting emerging talent from the music publication.

Passionate about music and community, she thrives on creating spaces for DJs to grow. She also contributes to The Faded Scene zine as the writer of “Watch This Space,” where she shines a light on up-and-coming artists. JANE aka JFOX

Jane is the Strategic Operations Coordinator for the Back2Back DJ Battle, working directly with Cat to drive the competition's success. With a background in management and a passion for music, you'll find her behind emails enquiring about sponsorships or sending silly memes to encourage DJs for their battle.

As an artist herself, Jane brings a unique perspective to her role. She's a rapidly rising DJ who has performed at notable London venues and debuted in Tokyo and Ibiza. Trained by industry experts, she spins a dynamic mix of genres. Drawing from her own experience, Jane is passionate about building a supportive space where artists can thrive and share their sound.

AFAAN aka Kafn

Afaan is a queer South Asian troublemaker juggling too many hats — DJ, promoter, music producer, marketing professional, and occasional merchant of chaos. With roots in India, Africa, Middle East and a base in North London, he’s bounced between the worlds of underground raves and shiny entertainment brands, pulling from both to carve out his own weird corner. Obsessed with digging for oddball sounds and spotlighting artists who deserve way more shine, he’s one of the voices shaping The Faded Scene.

When he’s not stress-eating deadlines, you’ll find him co-plotting boutique raves with Did Someone Say… — the crew behind nights like Chill:In, Ether, and CounterCxlture.
